NEUROMODULATORS
Are neuromodulators safe?
Neuromodulators have been used in medicine for almost 30 years and have many different medical uses. There are thousands of published studies about neurotoxin products, making them one of the most widely researched medicines in the world.

Most patients would tell you "no" and report very little discomfort. It has been described as feeling like a mosquito bite or like squeezing a pimple.

What is the Difference between Neuromodulators and Dermal fillers?
Neuromodulators relax muscles which when contracted can cause wrinkling, whereas fillers restore (or augment) volume. Neuromodulators take at least 5-7 days to cause effect on the muscles.

FILLERS
Is the procedure for Dermal Fillers painful?

Neuromodulators and Dermal Fillers are very often used in combination with each other and during the same treatment, depending on the desired outcome.
Post-treatment Care
Temporary bruising, swelling and tenderness may occur over the treatment areas. It may feel normal to feel firmness in your treated areas for the first few days after treatment and this will soften and settle. Apply cool compress to area (avoiding pressure).
What is the Difference between Neuromodulators and Dermal fillers?
Neuromodulators relax muscles which when contracted can cause wrinkling, whereas dermal fillers restore (or augment) volume. In the skin, most dermal fillers work by attracting water, which allows the skin to become more hydrated. As we age, fat, muscles, bone, and skin in our face begins to thin and can lead a sunken or sagging appearance of the face, fine lines, wrinkles, and thin lips. Injectable fillers can be used to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and to create structure and volume to the face and lips. The effects of dermal fillers are seen immediately.
Who should NOT receive Fillers?
Women who are pregnant or trying to get pregnant, women who are breastfeeding, individuals with medical conditions that lower the body's immune response, or individuals undergoing therapy that is immunosuppressive, active infection (ie. herpes simplex or acne flare) near the site of injection, or a known allergy/hypersensitivity to the material or to the lidocaine mixed in the syringe of the filler.

Injections vs. liposuction?
Fat dissolving injections are a non-surgical treatment to dissolve small fat pockets without surgery. As it is a non-surgical treatment, there is limited down time (some people return to work the same day), allowing you to return to your regular life in no time at all.
What is the chemical make up of fat dissolving injections?
In the human body, deoxycholic acid is used in the emulsification of fats for absorption in the intestine. During treatment, a synthetic form is injected to dissolve fat in the areas injected, without the need for the surgical intervention of liposuction.
What's recovery like after fat dissolving injections?
The recovery from these injections is relatively painless. Patients usually experience tenderness and/or numbness to the area after the treatment. It does cause some swelling that we tell our clients to plan for. This swelling is part of the process and is helpful as it can sometimes lead to some skin tightening along with fat reduction.
Is treatment painful?
Most of our clients would describe treatments as an easy procedure with little pain or discomfort.
